Iowa City police officials are searching for a man involved in a robbery from a local Gasby’s.

According to a press release, authorities responded to a panic alarm at Gasby’s, 1310 S. Gilbert St. The employee said the subject entered the business, displayed a handgun, and demanded money.

The employee was kidnapped by the suspect and was forced into the employee’s vehicle.

Several blocks later, the employee fought the suspect and was eventually pushed out of the moving vehicle.

The employee sustained minor injures and was treated at a local hospital, the release said.

The suspect left the scene in the employee’s blue 1999 Ford Explorer.
