Former Iowa quarterback Ricky Stanzi was claimed off waivers by the Jacksonville Jaguars on Tuesday evening after the Kansas City Chiefs cut him Monday.
Stanzi is one of five quarterbacks on Jacksonville’s roster, which now sits at 75 players.
The 6-4, 228-pound quarterback led the Hawkeyes to a 24-14 Orange Bowl victory over Georgia Tech and a record of 10-2 in the 2009-10 season.
Stanzi threw for 7,337 yards and a 26-9 record, starting 35 games while wearing the Black and Gold.
