Illinois man charged with OWI

Iowa City police arrested an Illinois man after he allegedly drove drunk through a person’s yard.

Todd Christian Leech, 21, Winnetka, Ill., was charged May 7 with OWI and possession of a controlled substance.

Police reports said officers responded to an alley behind 428 Fourth Ave. after receiving a report that a man had driven through someone’s yard.

Upon arrival, complaints said police found Leech passed out in the driver’s seat of his black Lincoln Aviator with the engine running. There was vomit on the outside of his door and on his pants, according to reports.

The complaint said Leech couldn’t stand on his own, admitted to driving while intoxicated, and blew a .17 after consenting to a breath test.

When officers went through Leech’s luggage to find him a new pair of pants, the report said they found marijuana.
