Crystal City to perform

Up-and-coming alternative-country rockers Crystal City will stop by the Blue Moose at 9 p.m. Friday along with opening acts Canby, Kodiac Flats, and Phil Ochs. Admission is $5, and age restrictions are 21 and over.

Hailing from San Francisco, Crystal City’s music can be compared with that of Jason Mraz and jam bands such as Phish and the String Cheese Incident. These Bay City rockers have been together since 2002 and recorded their début EP in 2006, Finding the Sun.

The lineup is a five piece that includes dual guitars, percussion, bass, and keyboards, and the group has played alongside big names, including Phil Lesh & Friends and Phish frontman Trey Anastasio.

The band is signed with Diamond D Records and is in the process of recording its follow-up album.
