The Daily Iowan: If you could watch one movie for the rest of your life, what would it be?

T.J. Hockenson: Moneyball is pretty good.

DI: If you could have any animal as a pet, what would you choose?

Hockenson: Dog. Man’s best friend. I have a dog, and she’s pretty sweet.

DI: Who’s got the best nickname on the team?

Hockenson: That’s a tough one. Brady Ross, we call him Butters.

DI: If you could build your dream concert lineup, how would that look?

Hockenson: I’m a big country guy, so Kenny Chesney, Johnny Cash, all that stuff is pretty good.

DI: “Mo Bamba” — what are your thoughts on the song?

Hockenson: It’s all right. [My teammates] play a lot of it in the locker room. I think I’ve been sick of it since it came out.

DI: Let’s say you lock your keys in your car. Which teammate would you call to help you out?

Hockenson: Nate Weiting. He’s a trustworthy guy who will help me.

DI: What was your favorite TV show growing up?

Hockenson: “Friends.”

DI: What’s the weirdest dream you’ve ever had?

Hockenson: Can I pass? I don’t know; I don’t dream much. I don’t remember my dreams.

DI: If you could have dinner with anyone in history, who would you eat with?

Hockenson: Teddy Roosevelt. I’m into presidents, politics, I like all that.

DI: Do you believe in aliens?

Hockenson: Yes. There’s a lot of stuff out there; there’s got to be something.

DI: What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?

Hockenson: I had octopus one time. I thought that was really weird. Down in Florida. I didn’t think it was good.
