The Daily Iowan: It’s October, so what’s your favorite scary movie?

Amani Hooker: The Conjuring. I don’t like demons or nothing like that, but I like it’s scary.

DI: What’s your best Halloween costume?

Hooker: I was a bumblebee when I was like 3 or 4 years old. I was pretty cute.

DI: As far as music goes, who do you listen to the most?

Hooker: Drake, Gunna, Lil Baby, and then Chris Brown, and probably Trey Songz.

DI: What’s the best tradition in college sports?

Hooker: I think it’s The Wave. I don’t think there’s a better tradition, if I’m

being honest.

DI: When you go home on breaks, what’s the best home-cooked meal you can eat?

Hooker: The chicken and rice my mom makes. It’s real good.

DI: Does she use a secret ingredient or anything like that?

Hooker: I mean, I think. I don’t know it, but she knows it — everyone likes it.

DI: What’s the best vacation spot if you’ve got time off?

Hooker: My bed. My bed at home, back at my mom and dad’s house.

DI: If you have to hitch a ride with someone, who’s the worst driver on the team?

Hooker: Devonte Young. He’s kind of reckless. He’s from Maryland, so I don’t think they know how to drive over there.

DI: If you weren’t playing football, what sport would you play?

Hooker: I’d play basketball.

DI: What position?

Hooker: Point guard.

DI: Do you have a certain team you watch in the NBA?

Hooker: No. But if I played with LeBron, that would be pretty cool.

DI: What do you think of his move to the Lakers?

Hooker: I think it’s a good move. I think he’s going to be a good fit there.
