An Iowa man allegedly admitted to stealing a vehicle after he found it unlocked.
Patrick Warren, 18, address unknown, was charged Aug. 22 with first-degree theft.
According to an Iowa City police complaint, Warren was found in possession of a stolen silver 2012 Ford Escape, which is valued at $30,000. He was found in possession of the keys and had belongings inside the vehicle including a duffle bag containing clothing, two iPods, and a jean jacket.
Warren admitted to police officials to stealing the vehicle from 928 Walnut St. after he noticed that the dome light was on and the vehicle was unlocked, the complaint said.
First-degree theft is a Class-C felony.
