A number of Hawkeye-related events and programs will take place during this year’s Iowa State Fair in Des Moines.
The University of Iowa’s exhibit at this year’s fair follows the theme of “Hometown Hawkeyes.”
Pictures of Hawkeye alumni will be displayed in the exhibit.
Officials and students will be on hand Aug. 8-18 in the William C. Knapp Varied Industries Building on the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines to share information about the UI’s educational programs, research, and athletics.
In addition to more than the 200 UI faculty, staff, students, and alumni volunteering, a number of athletes and coaches will be in attendance. They include former Hawkeye wrestling coach Dan Gable, Hawkeye Athletics Director Gary Barta, Hawkeye broadcaster Gary Dolphin, former basketball players Bobby Hansen and Duez Henderson, wrestler Mark Ironside, and ex-Hawk football players Brad Banks, Craig Clemons, Scott Helverson, and Mike Humpal.
A complete listing of the UI’s exhibition schedule for the Iowa State Fair is available online at uiowa.edu/statefair/exhibitors/schedule.
