A popular Northside Marketplace restaurant is set to undergo renovations.

Beginning July 29, the Motley Cow Café, 160 N. Linn St., will close to undtake a new renovation project, the restaurant announced in a Wednesday press release.

The restaurant, founded in 1999, sources about 85 percent of its vegetables from Johnson County and frequently uses local beef, pork, and lamb.

Changes are expected to be made to the dining room and bar space, the release said.

Renovations will take place until Aug. 8, and the restaurant will reopen on Aug. 9.

The Motley Cow is the second business n the Northside Marketplace to see changes in the form of renovations.

The High Ground Café, 301 E. Market St., opened in late June in the former second café location for T.Spoons.

A single T.Spoons location remains in operation on the first floor of downtown Iowa City’s Old Capitol Town Center.
