A local man has been accused of not paying a woman for an “erotic massage” for $200.
Hamed Mohamd, 27, was charged Wednesday with assault causing injury and prostitution. Alysia Talbert, 23, was charged Wednesday with prostitution.
Iowa City police responded to Mohamd’s residence because of a dispute over money in reference to a sexual transaction between him and Talbert.
According to the complaint, further investigation into the incident reportedly revealed that Talbert went to Mohamd’s residence to conduct an “erotic massage” for $200.
Mohamd indicated to Talbert that he wanted to have sexual intercourse and she agreed. Talbert asked for money when she and Mohamd finished, the complaint said.
The two allegedly struggled over the money. When Talbert attempted to leave, Mohamd locked the door and refused to let her leave, the complaint said. He then placed his hands around her neck and pressed her against the bed. Then he struck her on her right temple, the complaint said.
Talbert had abrasions to her temple and red marks on both sides of her neck, according to the report.
Talbert reportedly admitted to police that she had been prostituting for approximately five years and had created a website for the Iowa area that highlighted the services she offered.
Mohamd showed officials the website on his computer and said he contacted Talbert at the phone number listed on the website.
Assault causing injury is a serious misdemeanor. Prostitution is an aggravated misdemeanor.
