The Iowa men’s cross-country team will travel to Peoria, Ill., to race in the Bradley Open today. The men’s squad is ranked ninth in the region by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association.
The Hawkeyes claimed a title at the Western Illinois Early Bird Open on Aug. 31, scoring 18 points and crowning an individual title in sophomore Kevin Lewis.
Lewis will also compete today, hoping to improve his personal best time in the 6,000-meter race, which he set last weekend at 18:35.
The women’s team, which will also compete at the Bradley Open, is also coming off a team victory at the Early Bird Open. Four female Hawkeyes will run for the first time in Black and Gold this weekend: Lisa Gordon, Courtney Martin, Cindy Saliba, and Lauren Scott.
Katherine Rehn won the individual title last weekend, also recording a personal best in the 4,000-meter course, clocking in at 14:51.
