The Iowa City City Council approved phase three of the improvements project for the Terry Trueblood Recreation Area — a project that will cost an estimated $3.7 million.

According to city officials, improvements include the park lodge, parking, shelters, canoe and fishing jetties, and a nature playground.

City councilors approved the plans on a 7-0 vote.
