A Coralville woman charged with first-degree murder will have her preliminary hearing Nov. 28.
Lillie Will Williams, 49, was charged Wednesday with first-degree murder after police alleged she started a fire that killed a 14-year-old boy and injured two others.
During her initial appearance Thursday at the Johnson County Courthouse, her preliminary hearing date was set, and Williams confirmed plans to file an application for a public defender.
Though Williams did not plead guilty or not guilty during today’s proceedings, she said, "All that’s false information, your honor," after a 6th Judicial District judge read the charge against her.
First-degree murder is a Class A felony punishable by life in prison. William’s bond is set at $1 million.
