A Coralville man faces numerous theft and criminal conduct charges after he allegedly committed a series of identity thefts, using the identities to order merchandise online.

According to a series of complaints by Coralville police, Joshua Booth, 31, allegedly ordered merchandise from several online companies, using a debit account or prepaid gift-card account for a down payment. The companies then sent the merchandise, only to find when they tried to debit the accounts, their requests were denied because of a lack of sufficient funds.

Booth allegedly ordered some of the merchandise using fictitious eBay accounts, which he set up using the names and Social Security numbers of three victims.

Booth was charged Wednesday with three counts of identity theft, two counts each of second- and first-degree theft, and one count of ongoing criminal conduct.
