University of Iowa Health Care officials named Theresa Brennan new chief medical officer for UI Health Care Wednesday, according to a press release.
Brennan, who joined the UI Carver College of Medicine faculty in 2001, has held the positions of vice chairwoman for clinical programs in the Internal Medicine Department and co-medical director of UI Heart and Vascular Center, among others. She was also included on the list of “Best Doctors in America.”
“Dr. Brennan is an outstanding clinician with unsurpassed commitment to caring for her patients,” Jean Robillard, the UI vice president for Medical Affairs, said in a release. “Her experience makes her ideally qualified to assume this important position.”
Brennan’s position includes providing leadership to clinical service as well as facilitating clinical performance improvement.
Her duties are slated to begin July 1, pending approval from the state Board of Regents.
