A West Branch woman was arrested after she allegedly stole $4,450 from her roommate of 10 years.

Stephanie Pauline Dlouhy, 28, was charged Feb. 7 with second-degree theft.

According to a complaint from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, Dlouhy allegedly stole the sum of money over a 10-month period, allegedly making 47 individual transactions.

The report said Dlouhy allegedly learned her roommate’s checking-account number and initiated the transactions over the phone without the victim’s permission.

Dlouhy’s cell-phone records reportedly show that the she made several calls to the victim’s bank.

Reports said the Dlouhy’s calls, which were made to the bank’s automated teller service, were recorded.

Officers said all transfers occurred after the alleged victim and Dlouhy had broken up and were no longer residing together.

Second-degree theft is a Class D felony punishable by up to five years in prison and a maximum fine of $7,500.
