Iowa City police arrested a local man after he allegedly abused a woman for more than four hours.
Wufax Isles, 30, 2601 Lakeside Drive Apt. 12, was charged April 26 with domestic-abuse assault with intent and false imprisonment.
According to reports, the alleged victim told police Isles began to assault her at approximately 10:30 p.m. April 24, and did not cease until 3 a.m. the next morning, degrading, slapping, punching, and strangling her. Reports said she sustained numerous cuts and bruises.
The alleged victim also told officials Isles allegedly would not let her leave his apartment and taunted her when she tried by saying "try it again."
He also allegedly said by the time the cops would arrive there would be nothing they could do for her, saying "I will kill you … you think that I’m a joke, that this is a game to you." Isles also allegedly kept her phone from her and put her in a wrist lock when she tried to take it from him.
Isles has a prior domestic-violence conviction from February 2010, reports said.
