Johnson County Attorney Janet Lyness has been selected as the new director-at-large of the Iowa County Attorneys Association, a press release said.

Lyness was elected to the position by her peers at the fall conference of the Iowa County Attorneys Association held in Ames on Nov. 7-10.

Director-at-large is a one-year position.

Lyness has worked in the Johnson County County Attorney’s Office for 19 years, and she has served as the head Johnson County prosecutor since 2007.
