Four hundred guests are scheduled to attend the Johnson County Go Red For Women Luncheon at the Coralville Marriot Hotel and Conference Center. University of Iowa President Sally Mason is slated as a speaker at the event, along with KCRG anchor Ashley Hinson.

The annual event is hosted locally by the UI’s Heart and Vascular Center, and organizers plan to raise money to help fund the fight against heart disease and stroke.

Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women in the United States, and the disease kills more women then the next five leading causes of death combined, according to the American Heart Association.
