Television new anchor Tom Brokaw is scheduled to give the keynote address at the University of Iowa College of Liberal Arts and Sciences commencement ceremony May 15.

Brokaw and three other distinguished guests will be awarded Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degrees.

Brokaw attended the UI from 1958-59. His speech, titled “Failure is an Option,” will begin at 9 a.m. at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

UI officials said tickets are not required for the commencement ceremony, but they recommend those wishing to attend arrive early.
