Iowa City police responded to two robberies early Monday morning, but haven’t yet made an arrest in either.
According to authorities, the first robbery occurred along the 1200 block of Gilbert Court. At midnight, a man reported he’d been robbed by a male who had threatened him with a knife.
Around 3 a.m., officers responded to a report of a home invasion in the 200 block of Haywood Drive. The residents told officers four people broke into the residence, threatened the residents, and stole electronics, according to police reports. One of the suspects said he had a gun, and others were armed with sticks, police said.
None of the alleged victims were injured.
The suspect in the first robbery is described as a black male in his late 20s, approximately 6 feet, 2 inches, thin, with short black hair and prominent upper front teeth. Police said he was wearing a dark-colored shirt and jeans.
All four suspects in the second robbery were described as college-age and were all wearing dark-colored hoodies. They included two black males, one white male who was approximately 5 feet 8 inches with light brown hair, and a black female.
