The Iowa Department of Public Health announced that, beginning today, all Iowans will be eligible to receive the H1N1 flu vaccination. Another wave of the illness is expected in January and February.
Previously, only those in high-risk priority groups could receive the vaccine through restricted clinics and local health-care providers.
With the recent announcement, Johnson County Public Health officials will work with more local providers and pharmacies to distribute the vaccine as quickly as possible.
The vaccine may not be available right away on Monday. For a list of public H1N1 vaccination sites and clinic times, visit http://www.johnson-county.com/dept_health.aspx?id=7544, or call Douglas Beardsley at (319) 356-6040.
