A Milwaukee man was arrested Monday evening near Kinnick Stadium for allegedly exposing himself to a woman walking past him.
The criminal complaint states the victim was stopped by Namir Marrero, 41, while she was walking on Melrose Avenue shortly before 7:30 p.m. Monday. The victim told police that, after stopping her, Marrero said he had something to give her. Marrero then reached into his pants and exposed his penis to the victim, the release states.
The victim said she fled the area quickly and called police.
An officer made contact with Marrero outside of Slater Hall and identified him based on the specific physical and clothing description provided by the victim. The complaint states Marrero admitted to urinating in the area but denied exposing himself to anyone.
The complaint states Marrero questioned whether the responding officer was a real police officer and appeared confused and intoxicated. Marrero submitted to a preliminary breath test, which indicated a blood alcohol concentration of 0.091 percent, which is considered significantly impaired.
Marrero has current warrants for indecent exposure to adults and minors in Pennsylvania and possession in Wisconsin, the complaint states. Additional court records show Marrero was also charged with public indecency in Franklin County, Ohio, in October 2021.
Marrero was charged with indecent exposure, a serious misdemeanor, and public intoxication, a simple misdemeanor. He remains in Johnson County jail.
