Caitlin Clark has been named the Big Ten Player of the Year for the third straight time, the first of many honors coming her way.
Clark is the first to unanimously win three straight Big Ten Player of the Year awards since Ohio State’s Jessica Davenport from 2005-07.
Iowa women’s basketball has had the Big Ten Player of the Year in six of the last seven seasons.

The star point guard surpassed Pete Maravich to become the NCAA all-time leading scorer on March 3 against No. 2 Ohio State. The game was the most watched women’s college basketball game in FOX Sports history, drawing 3.39 million viewers and peaking at 4.42 million.
Clark leads the nation in points and assists, averaging 32.3 points, 8.7 assists, and 7.3 rebounds per game this season. She is the first Division I player to record 3,600+ points, 1,000+ assists, and 900+ rebounds in a career. Clark declared for the WNBA Draft on Feb. 29 and is projected as the No. 1 overall pick.
Second-year forward Hannah Stuelke and fifth-year guard Kate Martin earned second-team all-Big Ten selections by the coaches and media. Stuelke is averaging 14.4 points and 6.9 rebounds per contest while starting 23 games. Martin, who also won the Big Ten Sportsmanship award, has started all 30 contests for the Hawkeyes this season, averaging a career-high 13 points per game.
Third-year guard Sydney Affolter was in contention for the Big Ten Sixth Player of the Year, but Michigan State’s Theryn Hallock won. Affolter is averaging 7.1 points and 6.3 rebounds off the bench this season. Hallock, a second-year guard, is putting up 11.2 points and 2.2 rebounds per contest.
