The Iowa Hawkeyes defeated the Minnesota Gophers, 90-85, at Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Sunday.
The Gophers dominated the first half, holding the Hawkeyes to 38 while collecting 51 points. The Hawkeyes came back in the second half and ended up taking over with 4:34 minutes left in the game.
The Hawkeyes had four players in double digits in points led by Payton Sandford and Patrick McCaffery, both with 21 points. Tony Perkins had 18, while Owen Freeman tallied up 17 points as well as 14 rebounds.
The Gophers had five players in double figures with Dawson Garcia and Braeden Carrington leading with 18 points each with Mike Mitchell Jr. following with 17 points. Cam Christie had 15 points while Parker Fox had 10 points.
Iowa will take on the Maryland Terrapins on Wednesday, Feb. 14, in XFINITY Center.
