Keith Duncan added to his historic season on Monday by winning Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week for the second time this season.

In Iowa’s 19-10 win over Illinois, Duncan hit four of his six field-goal attempts. His third make — his 27th of the season — broke the Big Ten single-season field goal record.

The Weddington, North Carolina, native previous won the honor when he made four field goals in Iowa’s 18-17 victory over Iowa State on Sept. 14. The performance was one of the most impressive of his career, as he made one in every quarter, from both hashes and the middle of the field, and did so in inclement weather at times.

Duncan leads the nation with 27 field goals this season — four more than second-place Rodrigo Blankenship of Georgia and Jake Verity of Eastern Carolina.

Duncan has also made 12 of his 16 kicks of 40 yards or more and ranks sixth in Hawkeye history with 36 field goals in his career.

The junior has a chance to add to his season marks when Iowa takes on Nebraska in its regular-season finale in Lincoln on Friday at 1:30 p.m.
