UI police receive report of East Side residence hall incident

University of Iowa Public Safety on Aug. 24 issued a crime alert after a report of a male subject entering a sleeping resident’s dorm room in an East Side residence hall during the early morning hours Aug. 22.

According to the alert, the subject grabbed a resident’s ankles and pulled her blankets. When the resident confronted the subject, he fled the scene. The incident is under investigation.

UI police encourage residents to lock their doors at all times and report suspicious activity by calling 911. Those with additional information about the incident are encourage to contact UI police at (319) 335-5022 or submit anonymous tips via the Rave Guardian app.
