Iowa set for Elite Eight matchup against No. 1 Baylor

No. 2 seed Iowa will take on No. 1 Baylor in the Elite Eight on Monday.

No. 1 seeded Baylor pounded No. 4 South Carolina in its Sweet 16 matchup, 93-68, on Saturday, setting up a battle with No. 2 Iowa in Monday’s Elite Eight matchup at 6 p.m.

The Bears are led by their two post players Kalani Brown and Lauren Cox.

Brown, a 6’7 senior, averaged 15.5 points and 8.1 rebounds per game, while Cox, a 6’4 junior, averaged 12.6 points with 8 rebounds.

Iowa will counter the tandem with possibly the best post player in the country in Megan Gustafson. The game will also feature two of the four finalists for the Naismith Coach of the Year award in Kim Mulkey and Lisa Bluder.
