University of Iowa Student Government has published funding reports on its website after receiving inquiries about how the organization has allocated money during fiscal 2019.

Some students raised transparency concerns amid planning for the second First Generation Summit. UISG President Hira Mustafa vetoed legislation to fund the summit last week over concerns about the summit’s cost.

The First-Generation Summit Planning Committee responded in a statement released Tuesday mentioning the organization had not made financial documents accessible to students.

The UISG Constitution states “all organized bodies of UISG shall follow the regulations and rules of the Iowa Open Meetings Open Records Act, as prescribed by Iowa Code, Chapter 22. All UISG records shall be accessible to all students.”

UISG had posted a statement on its website saying, “We are having technical difficulties with uploading our agendas, meeting minutes, and pieces of legislation.”
