The White House Twitter account released a video on Wednesday in response to the death of UI student Mollie Tibbetts.
In the video, individuals shared stories of crimes committed against their children by undocumented immigrants.
The video comes after members of the GOP released statements on Tuesday, after the news that Cristhian Bahena Rivera, an undocumented immigrant, was charged with the murder of Tibbetts. President Donald Trump, Gov. Kim Reynolds, and Senators Chuck Grassley and Joni Ernst all pointed to the need for secure borders in the light of Tibbetts’ death.
The tweet and video is below:
For 34 days, investigators searched for 20-year-old Mollie Tibbetts. Yesterday, an illegal alien, now charged with first-degree murder, led police to the cornfield where her body was found.
