UI Issue Hawk Alert Relating To Man With Knife

The University of Iowa has issued a Hawk Alert at 12:53 p.m. today pertaining to a man with a knife at Market and Gilbert street. The 40-year-old is described as a white male with stocky brown hair and a black Iowa wrestling shirt. According to the alert, he was last seen heading toward John’s grocery, 401 E. Market St.

At 3:00 p.m. a Hawk Alert announced the Iowa City Police had a suspect matching the description in custody. Police are asking the public to remain vigilant and to call with any information.
