Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-VT and Sen. Marco Rubio, R-FL won Johnson County in the 2016 Iowa caucuses.
Sanders won by a large margin over former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, garnering 59.5 percent to Clinton’s 40.2 percent. Former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley, who suspended his campaign Monday night, managed less than a half of a percentage point.
Rubio bested business mogul Donald Trump and Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, who won the Iowa caucuses. Rubio totaled 29 percent of the votes, while Cruz topped Trump by a mere 30 votes.
