DI football reporters Danny Payne and Jordan Hansen offer their predictions for Iowa’s game with Nebraska.
…
LINCOLN, Nebraska — Hey, hey, hey. We hope you guys are as excited as we are for this game. No. 4 Iowa can, of course, finish an undefeated regular season for the first time in modern program history. Our exams are here, and our predictions are below.
Danny Payne, Pregame Editor
I’ve bought in, I think the Hawkeyes finish it out this afternoon. Nebraska will make too many mistakes, and Iowa will do just enough to squeak one out. Prediction: Iowa 38, Nebraska 28.
Pick to Click: Jordan Canzeri. While I think LeShun Daniels Jr. is the best running back the Hawkeyes have, I see Canzeri busting a big one today and having a big day.
Jordan Hansen, football reporter
Iowa needs to march down the field and score on its first drive — a touchdown is preferable, but a field goal works, too. The Hawkeyes need to quiet things down and get control of the game. I think they will, too. Prediction: Iowa 31, Nebraska 24
Pick to Click: Tevaun Smith: With how bad Nebraska’s pass defense has been this season, I feel like Smith is in line for a couple big catches. Iowa might almost need him to do just that.
