Wilson’s Apple Orchard has a long history of connecting its visitors to the apples they take home.
Often, the employees at the orchard aim to highlight where food comes from, especially for their kid customers.
One Wilson’s customer Jessica Danilson said she wants to make sure her kids understand all aspects of this.
“Going into the grocery store, I’m amazed that they don’t know where some of that stuff comes from,” she said.
The orchard offers more than just apples — selling honey, doughnuts, and apple-flavored slushies. And in the next year, they’ll be bringing in even more.
By next August, the orchard will be home to a cidery, focusing on hard cider.
Owner Paul Rasch said they hope to work with other local growers.
“I think we’re finally getting back to a reality that includes getting customers and farms connected kind of in a web,” he said.
