One lane of southbound Madison Street and the sidewalk along the east side of the Main Library will be closed April 22 until Aug. 2 to make room for the installation of the new east entrance.

According to a release, the bus stop on the east side of the library will be relocated one-half block south to accommodate the construction.

Construction on the library began last summer, and the renovation project’s completion date is December 2013.

The Learning Commons will include 18 study group spaces, 100 desks, and a 45-seat TILE classroom. The Learning Commons will be available 24 hours, five days a week.
