Iowa City’s Economic Development Division introduced a new financial assistance program.

According to a city press release, the assistance program called “Building Change” was established to help support downtown as well as North Side Marketplace property owners who want to upgrade their buildings. The funds are intended to improve the shopping experience and meet the needs of the growing districts. Total project costs must exceed $20,000 to be considered, the release said.

Applications for the program will be accepted until March 6.
