A Plymouth County attorney was elected as the 2013 president of the Iowa State Association of Counties Board of Directors.

Darin Raymond began his term on Jan. 1. Attorney General Tom Miller swore in the new members of the board during the January meeting in West Des Moines.

Some of the members of the committee include Harlan Hansen, Melvyn Houser, and Joan McCalmant. Members of the executive committee serve a one-year term.

There are 21 officials on the board. The board members’ primary responsibilities include developing and monitoring the strategic plan, setting legislative priorities, and recommending the budget.
