The University of Iowa will name the varsity golf complex under construction at Finkbine the Hoak Family Golf Complex.

The name will honor Jim Hoak — a 1940 UI graduate and a golf letterwinner at the university.

His family and friends recently gave $500,000 to support construction at the golf complex, and Hoak established the James Hoak Scholarship Fund in 2006 to assist a member of the men’s golf team.
