An Iowa City woman was allegedly charged with using a stolen credit card to make purchases.
Loraine Major, 31, Shelter House, was charged June 4 with identity theft, forgery, unauthorized use of a credit card, and second-degree theft.
According to an Iowa City Police complaint Major came across a lost credit card that did not belong to her at some point between the dates of May 29 and June 4.
She was making unauthorized purchases with the credit card at the Iowa City Parking Division on May 29, May 31, and June 1, the complaint said.
The complaint said she is also seen on camera using the credit card to make purchases at GameStop and Wal-Mart. Major also paid off a bill through Mediacom with the stolen card.
Major would also sign the receipts with the name of the person listed on the card. The total amount for all purchases is $1,538.67, the complaint said.
Identity theft, second-degree theft, forgery, and unauthorized use of a credit card spending less than $10,000 are all considered class-D felonies.
