The Iowa City City Council approved plans Tuesday for the 2012 Muscatine Avenue Water Main Improvements Project.

The project, according to city documents, includes installing a water main along the south side of Muscative Avenue from Arthur Street to Scott Boulevard.

The project also includes installing new water services, removing and replacing pavement, driveways, sidewalks, and other associated improvements.

The estimated cost of the project is roughly $937,000.

Councilors approved the plans on a 7-0 vote.
