The Iowa City City Council voted Tuesday to establish an ad hoc diversity committee to study city operations as they relate to minority populations.
The committee will consist of seven members.
The councilors passed a resolution of intent May 15 to establish the ad hoc committee and voted June 5 to create it, The Daily Iowan has previously reported.
The committee will be responsible for studying the operation of the city’s transit system and law enforcement, according to city documents.
