A Cedar Rapids man has been accused of abusing his girlfriend when she tried to leave the residence.
Trevor Clinton, 26, Cedar was charged Sunday with third-offense domestic-abuse assault.
According to a Johnson County Sheriff’s Office complaint, Clinton allegedly physically restrained his girlfriend when she attempted to leave the residence. The woman attempted to free herself by hitting Clinton with her hands and lost bladder control.
She went to the bathroom to change clothing and when she tried to exit, Clinton reportedly held her in the room by restraining her lower arms, the complaint said.
The complaint said Clinton grabbed her by the neck and threw her down on the floor, causing her head to strike the floor.
Clinton has three domestic-abuse convictions on Jan. 30, 2009, Jan. 2, 2010, and Dec. 1, 2011.
Third-offense domestic-abuse assault is a Class-D felony.
