The Iowa City City Council will hold a public hearing and consider a resolution approving plans, specifications, and estimated cost for the U.S. Highway 6 and Sycamore Street intersection Improvement Project.
The project entails widening the pavement, reconstructing the median, overlaying asphalt through the intersection, installing an 8-foot-wide sidewalk, and installing a new traffic-signal system, according to city documents.
The estimated cost of the project is roughly $1.8 million.
The councilors will hold a public hearing June 19 and consider a resolution approving the project’s plans, specifications, and estimated cost.
