The third candidate to become University of Iowa vice president for Research and Economic Development will speak in an open forum Monday in 348 IMU.
Mary J.C. Hendrix is the final candidate of three to speak with members of the UI community about the position.
Hendrix is the William G. Swartchild Jr. Distinguished Research Professor at Northwestern’s Feinberg School of Medicine and president and scientific director at the Children’s Memorial Research Center in Chicago. She is a former UI faculty member and also served as the deputy director of the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Brian Herman and Daniel Reed are also in contention for the position. Herman is a biologist and special assistant to the president at the University of Texas Health Care Center-San Antonio, and Reed is the corporate vice president of Microsoft.
