An Iowa City man was arrested after allegedly getting into a physical altercation with his wife.

Ruthere Nagueza, 42, was charged Wednesday with domestic-abuse assault with intent or displaying a weapon.

According to an Iowa City police complaint, Nagueza grabbed his wife by the hair and punched her in the face.

The woman has a limited English vocabulary but was able to demonstrate to officers what Nagueza had done, the complaint said.

Domestic-abuse assault with intent or displaying a weapon is an aggravated misdemeanor.
