Officials with the University of Iowa Research Foundation filed a lawsuit Sept. 23 against a medical-research company allegding a breach in contract.
According to court documents, MedImmune Inc., a foreign company, signed a contract with the foundation to develop intellectual property. Both parties signed the contract in 1997, which stated the company was required to report to the university for royalties and compensation resulting from patents created by the company. The court files state MedImmune failed to pay royalties on licensed patents.
An exhibit including the terms of the contract was included in the court filings.
