The Iowa City City Council on Tuesday voted to approve a request to install a Wells Fargo bank ATM on the College Street area of the Pedestrian Mall.
The bank will sign a lease with the council that will allow it to place the ATM for an initial period of five years.
The bank may renew the lease up to four times after the initial five-year period.
According to Iowa Code Section 364.7, the City Council must hold a public hearing before any possible long-term lease agreements are passed.
The council approved the measure on a 7-0 vote.
