The Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges has named David Miles, the former regents’ president and current regent, to its Board of Directors, according to a press release.
For the past year, Miles has served as head of the Association’s Council of Board Chairs.
“David brings extensive higher education and nonprofit board experience to this endeavor,” said Richard Legon, the association’s president, in the press release. “And his enthusiasm for governance and for the safeguarding of citizen trusteeship are laudable.”
Miles was elected president of the state Board of Regents in December 2007 and resigned that position in July; his current regent term runs until May 2013.
