Iowa City police arrested two local men Tuesday after officers allegedly located marijuana and Esctasy in their vehicle.

Jeremy Lorenzo Brown, 25, 2404 Bartelt Road Apt. 1A, and Jason D. Morton, 26, address unknown, were charged with two counts of controlled-substance violation and one count of drug tax-stamp violation, both Class D felonies.

Officers said they stopped the men as they were driving southbound on Summit Street, and they reported that the could smell the odor of raw marijuana as they approached the vehicle.

After receiving proper identification, the report said officers arrested Brown for a pre-existing warrant for narcotics.

The report said a search of the vehicle yielded a sock containing marijuana and 31 pills consistent with MDMA, also known as Ecstasy.
