The Daily Iowan

Bill Casey Publishers Fund

Bill Casey retired in May 2017 after an incredible 41-year career as publisher where he helped the DI grow into one of the nation’s best college newspapers. Bill started the DI’s scholarship program in 1987, led the newsroom into the digital era and launched Daily Iowan TV.

Bill has done so much for so many people over four decades at the DI. Now, you can do something for Bill.

The Daily Iowan, in partnership with the UI Foundation, started the Bill Casey Publishers Fund to provide future DI publishers with discretionary resources that can be used to meet the DI’s most pressing financial needs.

Prospective fund uses include, but are not limited to, purchasing equipment and investing in new technology, providing staff training opportunities and supporting travel expenses for DI staff to go on site where stories are developing.
